Fall is in full swing and it’s got me feeling festive. I’m so excited about scarves, and pretty leaves, and cool breezes that I can ignore the mountain of stress that comes with this time of year. Sure I’ve been spending a great deal of time at the library, but I’m able to look outside and see rich hues of red and gold; and my walks to and from class are made bearable by the beautiful crisp weather.
I’m all about the fall (if you couldn’t tell) and I thought it would be fun to make talk about some of my favorite aspects of my favorite season!
Ok, so I’m sure this one was pretty obvious, but it couldn’t be disregarded. For those of you who live in an area without the stereotypical changing of seasons, you don’t know what you’re missing out on! There is something about being surrounded by the warm, inviting colors of fall that just puts a smile on your face.
I, for one, am not ashamed to admit my love for pumpkin. Pies, lattes, you name it – I love it. One thing I want to bring up to you is that Burt’s Bees Limited Edition Pumpkin Spice Lip Balm has arrived and is Available Only at Target. The lip balm is infused with creamy pumpkin and a touch of spice, and of course the naturally conditioning beeswax that Burt’s Bees is famous for. This has been a major essential for me (my first tube is almost gone!) and I’ll definitely be stocking up before they are gone!
I’m a big fan of cocoas and teas, but they aren’t always overly appealing to me in the hotter months. But as soon as the weather cools down I usually wind down each night with either a cup of chai tea or a mug full of hot chocolate. There is just something so cozy and fall like about hot beverages and they are one of the ultimate destressers!
Also, I’m crazy about hot apple cider! It’s such a fall drink that I feel like it’d be wrong to drink it any other time of the year, but for a few glorious months it is my beverage of choice.
Ok, so Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday of all time. I love having the family together, everyone is in high spirits, and there is delicious food as far as the eye can see. Plus, Thanksgiving falls at the perfect time when school is starting to be a bit too much and Thanksgiving break provides a much needed time of relaxation where I can soak in all of the love, family, and togetherness I’d been missing out on.
Even though I’m not a big football fan, I love football season at Illinois. The school spirit we show for our team gets me riled up and excited! Win or lose, you are guaranteed to see Orange and Blue at every turn when you’re on campus. My favorite thing about my school is the pride we have, and that pride is made extra apparent in the fall.
