November Income Report

Happy December, Everyone! It’s a new month which means I am due to put up my income report! You all know why I do these by now so I’ll save you the spiel and jump into things. November was a strange month to say the least. I was under more stress than I’m used to dealing with, and some of my passion (temporarily!) fizzled out. That’s not something I like admitting, but I’m all about being open here. I turned down a few opportunities that I’m regretting, and I generally just didn’t use my energy towards being productive.

At the end of the month my stress levels plummeted and my mojo came back in full swing, but now I’m playing catch up. That’s the tough thing about balancing college and a blog – both require an absurd amount of time, work, and dedication, and they are both very important to me. December means winter break (woohoo!) and that will give me plenty of time to destress and focus on building the blog.

So for the parts of the month when I wasn’t in a deep rut I focused mostly on video content and my course, still trying to focus on quality. I only ended up posting fourteen times which is quite a bit below my monthly goal, but I did focus on some longer posts.

I also had my first travel opportunity through the blog and I was able to go down to St. Louis for St. Louis Fashion Week as a VIP blogger and that was beyond amazing. We had a very packed schedule and by the end of the day all that I could do was collapse in bed, but it’s one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. With that said, I overestimated my ability to post while I was there, but it was actually well worth it.

As for my course: I’m still set to launch in January, and I should have a free e-book coming out in the next week or so. Just today I got a battery for my new microphone so I can start the video portions, many of which I am filming on Saturday. I’ve been investing in equipment so that the quality will be as great as the content I am sharing!

Izea – $750
St. Louis Fashion Week – $350
Blogher Post – $250
Host Gator (from this post, where I show YOU how to make a blog!) – $450
Blogher Ads – $151.49
Amazon Affiliates – $3.34
YouTube – $3.80
Total: 1958.63

Hosting – $6.83
Adobe Lightroom – $10.61
Total: $17.44

Grand Total: $1941.19

The grand total fell just short of 2000 dollars, which is my goal, but I am very happy with my income, regardless. I know that if I had been more focused I would have surpassed that, and I’m eager to see how things go in the month of December. As always, I calculated how many hours I would have had to work in a minimum wage job to make $1941.19 and came up with just over 235 hours, or about 59 hours a week. So long as my blog income is more than I could make at a campus job, I am more than thrilled!

Yes! If you are interested in making a profitable blog – I would be more than happy to help! I have an incredibly detailed guide to setting up a blog here, and from there you can check out my blogging tips (there are a lot!) and if you need any further help – email me! I absolutely love talking about blogging (my friends and family are sick of hearing about it!) so do not hesitate.

Get through finals.

But really. Beyond that I will be finishing my course, releasing my e-book, and focusing on list building. I am going to cut back to three (quality!) posts a week so I can focus on my bigger projects, and I’ll also be desperately racing to reach all of my social media goals before the new year. I am also working on a (top-secret!) project to be announced on my blogiversary that I am really excited for.

December is going to be a crazy busy month outside of blogging, but I am still hoping to move some mountains.

The past few months I’ve been giving away blog consultations with my income reports. January I will be really diving into polishing and promoting my course as well as releasing my secret project, so there will be no giveaway this month. With that said, come back to December’s income report and I’ll be choosing two winners!
