I’m Relaunching My YouTube Channel

Growing up, I spent hours on YouTube watching MeganHeartsMakeup and JuicyStar07 all whilst cursing my awkwardness and my lack of natural charisma that seemed necessary to make it on YouTube.

The idea of being a YouTuber seemed glamorous and exciting. The execution? Not so much.

Secret time: When I was fourteen I actually had a beauty YouTube channel. It was top secret and 10/10 embarrassing. It didn’t last long, though. I got to my first 1,000 subscribers and then I was terrified that people from school would find out so I put all of my videos on private and slunk away into an early retirement.

Since starting my blog, I’ve dabbled in YouTube videos. Everyone tells me that “video is the future” and that 2018 is going to be the year of video.

So, I’m diving back in head first.

Throwback to me channeling the inner-confidence I need to put together sensible sentences on video.

Baby, I’m back

This is my promise to you: Every week for the rest of 2017 expect at least one upload. My goal is to increase that in the new year to two, and if time allows, perhaps even three.

In this first phase of uploads, I’ll be publishing blogging advice videos. In fact, I’ve already uploaded a couple!

What’s to come

In 2018 I plan on mixing lifestyle content into my schedule, but for now I’m starting with what I know. With that said, what do you want to see?

I am creating the content you want most, so let me know your most burning blogging questions in the comments. If it’s a larger topic I can dedicate a video to it, otherwise I have a lot of fun filming Q&As.

My YouTube goals:

  • Establish a consistent posting schedule. I’d love to be posting three times a week in 2018 on set days, I’ll be using the rest of 2017 to get used to filming and learn how to edit quicker.
  • Reach 10,000 subscribers by the end of the year. It’s ambitious and lofty, but I believe if I create good content consistently I’ll reach it.
  • Become comfortable on camera. I’m naturally a bit awkward, but that’s amplified in my videos. I’d love to be able to display the “real me” on camera.
  • Figure out a proper filming set-up. I’m moving into a new apartment at the end of the month, and I have big goals to create a beautiful filming space and figure out my sound and lighting.

Celebrate good times, come on!

To celebrate the launch of the channel, I’m giving away a $100 Amazon gift card. To enter, all you need to do is subscribe to me on YouTube or leave a comment requesting a video. I’ll leave the giveaway running for the next three weeks!
