Happy Place by Emily Henry was this week’s book for Facts & Fictions, my friend Desiree and I’s new book club podcast. We talk about our thoughts on the characters – Harriet, Wyn, Cleo, Kimmy, Sabrina, and Parth – the book tropes we prefer, and what we’d do if we found ourselves in Harriet’s shoes.
This book is both a second chance romance, along with a pretend dating trope – one of these tropes I really like, the other I tend to avoid! With that said, I thought Emily Henry did a great job executing them both, and while I’m typically a second chance romance skeptic, I did love the execution here.

Facts & Fictions is a brand new podcast, and I’m personally excited about the idea of “failing forward” and learning as we go. The strides we’ve taken since we started planning our podcast in fall 2024 have been so exciting to see, and getting our work out into the world has been such a fun and exciting process. And as proud as we are of what we’ve got going so far, I think we’re both excited to look back on these first few episodes and think, “wow, how far we’ve come.”
