I use Micellar Cleansing Water as my go to for getting my makeup off at the end of a long day (it fights through my mascara like it’s nothing, y’all!) and it does a killer job at cleansing. I also use a cleansing brush a few times a week to give my skin a deep cleanse and exfoliate when I have more time and am looking to pamper myself.
Recently I’ve added a new moisturizer into my rotation, and it’s rocking my world, y’all! Garnier products have always been a staple in my haircare routine, but it wasn’t until recently that I took the Clearly Brighter Challenge and tested out Garnier SkinActive® Clearly Brighter™ Brightening & Smoothing Daily Moisturizer SPF 15 and I’m obsessed.
The skin on my t-zone is dry while everywhere else is in the normal to oily zone, and finding a product that responds well to both skin types is a rare occurrence and something that should be celebrated.
The moisturizer promises brighter, smoother looking skin in just one week and this product came through! I’ve tried other brightening moisturizers in the past, but they’ve all seemed to confuse “brightening” and “shimmery” effectively turning me into a disco ball.
While I don’t mind a bit of shimmer here and there, I much prefer looking like I’m glowing from the inside, and that’s what this moisturizer accomplishes. It also has SPF and is clinically proven. With antioxidants like vitamin C in the ingredients your skin will feel nicer and look brighter after just a handful of uses.
I feel like a common theme in my life for the past year has been stress, and that stress has meant dealing with tired and dull looking skin. Short of an intense makeup routine (ain’t nobody got time for that!) there hasn’t been much I have figured out to combat the dullness until the Garnier SkinActive® Clearly Brighter Daily Moisturizer came into my life.
I have noticed a big difference in not only how my skin looks, but how it feels, too. My chronic dry patches (that I’ve been fighting for years!) have been reduced in a huge way, and makeup goes on so much smoother.
That in addition to the bright and glowy look my skin has taken on has made the Clearly Brighter Moisturizer a holy grail in my skincare routine. Besides spot treatments and serums here and there when my skin is acting up and a face mask a few times a week, I’ve been keeping things fairly simple for the past few weeks.
I like being able to throw my Clearly Brighter moisturizer in my bag and know I’ll be good to go if I end up staying somewhere other than home. And while I wish beauty products were all that you needed to have glowing, beautiful skin, some of it has to come from the inside out. And that means living a healthy and active lifestyle.
Call me crazy – but I really do think that I see a difference in my skin and complexion when I am well hydrated. I aim to drink a gallon of water every day, and whenever I accomplish my goal I look better and feel better.
I know we all already know that your diet contributes to your outward appearance, too, and eating lots of fresh fruits and veggies while limiting animal products will do wonders for your skin.
Exercise also plays a contributing role in how you look and feel. Whether you’re training for a triathlon or taking a yoga class, getting your heart pumping and blood flowing is great for your body, soul, and skin.
Tell me a bit about your skincare routine! I’d love to hear how you achieve bright and glowy skin!
