I try not to be bothered by much, and for the most part I’m not. But something that is a huge pet-peeve of mine is the ways girls treat girls. Way too many girls are catty and mean and just not nice to other girls. If we are going to be mean we should at least focus that on stinky ‘ol boys, right? But lets just actually be nice to everyone. Good karma all around that way! With that said, here are the top ways I see girls bringing down other girls. It’s easy to fall into the cycle, and if you see yourself doing it, try and make the efforts to stop! No one said it better than Ms. Norbury: “You all have got to stop calling each other sluts and whores. It just makes it ok for guys to call you sluts and whores.” Not only does it make guys think that’s alright, but it’s just not nice! We all know girls can be mean to other girls, but we are also mean to ourselves, and we shouldn’t be. If I had a dollar for every time I heard one of my friends put themselves down for something superficial,… View Post

I am generally a very easygoing person. I like everyone, generally they like me back. If not, that’s fine, I hold no grudges, but I mean, their loss. I’m mostly joking. But if I don’t like you, then I have a reason. And it’s a good one, because I am queen of second chances. In fact, in my eighteen years of life, there are only two people who I can’t find a single redeeming quality in. A former teacher of mine, and a classmate who spent an unbelievable amount of his time trying (and to a great extent, succeeding) to make me miserable. Both of these ‘gentlemen’ suffer from severe superiority complexes, narcissism, and a lack of remorse for making the people around them feel poorly. I had just met the aforementioned classmate. I’d heard negative things about him from other girls who warned me of his less than charming personality, but he was my boyfriend’s friend so I gave him a cautious chance. I found him a little immature, but other than that I thought he was a good enough guy. He didn’t take his time in proving me wrong. It started with a facebook message. He spun some… View Post

Travel.   I’ve always romanticized the idea of traveling the world and finding adventure in a far away place, and I’ve always paired the thought with someday. I’ve always thought I would travel, but it’s never been a priority.   Until recently.   For the past few months, travelling seems to be all I think about. I prioritize finding new destinations over almost everything. Picturing myself jetting off to a new place fills me up with an indescribable feeling. It’s a mix of desire and excitement. My heart starts to race and the blood rushes to my face. I am completely enthralled with the idea of going somewhere I’ve never dreamed of and getting to explore this entire new world.   It turns out, the word for what I’m feeling is wanderlust.   I am suffering from an incurable case of wanderlust, the same way I used to be in love with the idea of living the stereotypical “American Dream” with a big house, a high earning job, and the perfect family, I am now consumed with thoughts of travel. I want to spend weeks exploring the small towns in Europe, I want to swim in every ocean, and I… View Post

Something about the term Bucket List makes me uncomfortable. Perhaps it’s the way people never seem to accomplish everything on theirs, or how people put the impossible on there without any plan on getting there. You might call the list I’m about to present you my bucket list. But I prefer to call it my to do list. These aren’t things I am pushing off until some day rolls around. They aren’t tasks that I’d simply like to do but in reality will never get around to doing. These are things I have every intention of doing, and I already have a plan for many. Call it what you will, but I challenge you to make a list of your own. I challenge you to write your dreams down; and then plan on making them happen. If you’re stuck, perhaps you can take some inspiration from mine. I categorized mine for my own convenience, but organize yours as you’d like!
