The past year has held a lot of firsts for me: the first time living on my own, the first time moving away from home, and the first time travelling on my own.
Last summer I boarded a plane by myself for the first time to visit my best friend in Texas, and then did it again two weeks later to go to New York for Her Conference.
Her Conference is a conference put on by Her Campus every year for young women in the media.
This is a place where bloggers, journalists, and students with huge dreams gather together to network and learn from each other.
Last year Her Conference changed my trajectory for good.
For the first time I was surrounded by people who wanted the same things I did, and people who were actually doing what I had only ever dreamt of.
At the time I was a college student who was satisfied but not excited about where my life was going and Her Conference opened my eyes and helped me realize that yes what I want is possible, but not unless I do something about it.

So I started putting things into motion and chasing my blogging dreams full time. In fact, I chased them all the way to New York City. And while my time here is coming to a close, I couldn’t leave before this year’s Her Conference.
I was thrilled when they invited me to be a correspondent (this conference has my heart, y’all!) and I can’t be more excited to attend this weekend!

There are going to be exciting speakers like Samantha Powers, Nastia Liukin, and Rebecca Minkoff; Editors like Vanessa K. De Luca and Joyce Chang, and Andi Dorfman, a former Bachelorette.
Last year Saturday was my favorite day of the conference (Saturday is mostly bloggers!) and based on the line up I have a feeling it’s going to be my favorite day again!
Rebecca Minkoff is the morning keynote (swoon!) and James Nord of Fohr Card is co-hosting a workshop. Consider me pumped!
And not be materialistic, but last year the gift bags were amazing. I am looking forward to dig into this year’s bag because with sponsors like Ulta Beauty, Amtrak, Juicy Couture, and Vera Bradley I’ve got a feeling that this year’s will be even better.
I am going the whole nine yards when it comes to taking y’all along so you can see just how life changing it is! I’ll be snapchatting, tweeting, posting on Instagram, and vlogging for my YouTube channel. You might even see an update or two on Facebook.
