Christmas Traditions + OOTD

Thanks Lady R and Blogger Babes for partnering with me on this post!

Merry Christmas Eve, everyone! I’m taking this Christmas Eve easy as I’m home bound with the stomach flu, but I thought I would still share some of my family’s Christmas Traditions and what would have been my Christmas Eve style should I be well enough to celebrate.

Since I was little my family would go to my Grandma and Grandpa’s every year to open a few presents before the big Christmas gathering at my house, and in recent years I’ve been going from my grandparent’s to my boyfriend’s Christmas Eve celebration with his family. This year a friend of mine was also hosting a fancier holiday party.

Earlier today I ambitiously got dolled up in my favorite dress from Lady R and some fun makeup. Ultimately I didn’t feel well enough to go out (plus, I didn’t want to get anyone else sick!) but before I retired into my jammies I did snap some pictures.

Lady R has a really amazing line of dresses that are so beautifully intricate that it was really hard to choose a favorite! This is the one I chose, but I also love this similar style in red. Their pieces are super high quality, and their sheer pieces come with a built in slip (a must in my book!)

The dress was a statement in itself so I really didn’t need any extra accessories, though I did throw on a pair of delicate silver earrings and a statement lip.

Even though I wasn’t able to wear the dress for real, I am hoping to have an occasion to go out in it soon! I think that it would be perfect for a wedding or a dinner event and if my family’s Christmas Party were a dressier occasion you’d better bet that I would be wearing it tomorrow.

My family opens Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve night so we don’t have to add that to our to-do list the morning of Christmas while we’re prepping to have my (slightly massive) family over. As I’m writing this I’m cozy in the living room with my momma, and we’re waiting for the boys to come home from my grandparent’s so the festivities can commence.

From there I’ll probably go straight to bed in hopes that a good night’s sleep will have me feeling like a new (healthier!) woman in the morning.

What does your family do for Christmas? I want to know!

Lady R provided me this dress as a gift, as always I only write about brands I love!
  • Girl, you look so fab! Merry Christmas 💖
We just got home from Christmas Eve mass, and it’s actually warm enough to grill out, so we’re having steak for dinner! Then up to open presents in the morning and headed to my grandma’s. Get well soon!

    • Thanks, love! And how fun! This weather has been so strange!

  • Hope you feel better! My toddler and I threw up all day yesterday, and we are feeling a little better today, but now have sore throats and stuffy noses =(

    • Uggh, there is definitely something going around! I hope your little one is doing better!

  • Brittany Burnam

I love your blog! I have been checking it out for awhile! Love this post as well. I just started my own blog

  • Katie Baker

Feel better! My family always reads the nativity story from the Bible, and when I was in high school we used to go caroling at the hospital. We all know the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!

    • Caroling is my favorite! I haven’t gone in maybe 5 or 6 years, but it was always so much fun!

  • Ane I.

Hope you feel better Morgan! Merry Christmas!

  • Hope you feel better! You can never go wrong with a classic LBD and red lips for the holiday!

    • I am feeling much better! And you’re right, such a classic!
