It’s that time again, I’m publishing my monthly income report. I’ve been doing these for well over a year now, and in that time I’ve learned a lot about making money online. From increasing my prices to finding sponsorships, I’ve made a lot of strategic decisions that have helped me monetize. Through these income reports I hope that I’m able to help your realize what’s possible in the world of blogging, and answer any questions you might have about monetizing. Now you might be thinking, “Why the heck is this internet stranger sharing how much money she makes with all of us?” And I get you, if I weren’t in the blogging world as deep as I am, I’d find it weird too. When I started blogging I had no clue that there was money to be made, and bloggers like Lindsay at Pinch of Yum, Melyssa Griffin, and byRegina all inspired me with their income reports. Furthermore, blogging has opened my eyes to a world outside of the traditional “college>degree>9-5>retire>die” track that I so desperately wanted to escape and if I can help open other people’s eyes to the potential blogging holds – well that’s a win in my book. They’re back! I took a (way too long) hiatus on posting income reports when I was living in New York City. While I was there I had way too much going on to prioritize actively seeking partnerships and blogging opportunities. Over the past few months, my highest month’s income was just shy of $4000 in July and my lowest was $1600 in May. WHAT I DID IN SEPTEMBER September was a big month of getting back on brands’ radars. Like I said,… View Post

Happy May, y’all!  For the first time in a long time, I’m actually publishing an income report on the first day of the month. This feels like a cause for celebration.!April was a great month as far as blogging goes – I was able to participate in a really fun event and I planned a few April was a great month as far as blogging goes – I was able to participate in a really fun event and I planned a few amazing collaborations that will be taking place in the next few months. Best of all, though, is I was able to get caught back up. You may remember (or be sick of) hearing me describe how stressed I was juggling moving across the country, starting a full-time job, and keeping up with two blogs. While I’m not completely back in the rhythm of things, I am somewhere around 80% there so I’m not complaining. My focus in April. The main thing I worked on in April was growing my social presence. That meant being more active on Twitter (I’m actually learning to like it!), posting more on Instagram, and being more proactive about replying! I love blogging and pouring my heart into massive… View Post

Another month, another income report! Like last month, I’m a little late with this. I feel like I always tell you how busy I’ve been and how much things have been changing – but this month that’s for real the case. In case you didn’t know, I packed up and moved to NYC. It was last minute, unexpected, and a crazy decision that I don’t regret at all. I got a job offer and decided to go for it, so now you can see me posting over on the Teachable blog in addition to my own! With that said, if you’re a blogger you know the drill when it comes to working with brands: They reach out, you talk and negotiate, a publish date is set for roughly a month in the future. Given that I only knew for a month before moving that I’d be coming to New York, I had an overloaded plate for the craziness this past month would be. I didn’t post much besides things I was contracted to do and I felt way overwhelmed. But this weekend I’ve not only caught up, but I’ve gotten ahead which means I’ll be posting a lot of great content in… View Post

It’s that time again! I have gotten a handful of emails asking when I’d get my income report up (sorry for my tardiness, things have been crazy!) but it’s finally time to publish my February income report! I feel like I say this every month (and I probably do) but February was crazy, like really crazy. I found out I was moving to New York at the same time I was launching a course, I found an apartment – didn’t get it, found another apartment – didn’t get it, and am prepping to move to NYC to live in airbnb’s until I can get my apartment act together. Basically what I’m trying to say is that my poor blogs were grossly neglected while I tried to juggle the planning that comes along with moving across the country. March is a month of getting my act back together (to keep from losing my mind!) and setting the groundwork for a seamless next quarter. Now that I’ll be living in the city I am excited to be able to chase bigger opportunities and rub shoulders with some amazing minds! What I did in February… Cried. (Totally kidding, haha!) but I wasn’t too far off some… View Post
