I’ve been through a lot of changes in the last year: battling depression, leaving school, moving to New York City, working at a tech start-up, moving back to the midwest, and now adjusting to working remotely and balancing blogging in the midst of all of it. I look at how stressful the last year has been but I also realize that this time of change is just a part of growing up and everyone my age has either experienced that stress or will be very soon. I’m by no means an expert at handling stress (I’m known to hole up in… View Post

I like to think of myself as low-maintenance. Minimal makeup, sensible shoes, and air dried hair are sort of my jam. Sure, it’s easy to look at my favorite fashion bloggers with perfectly blown out hair, beautiful makeup, and edgy street style and want to replicate their look on the daily; but let’s be honest: I work from home and my idea of an adventurous night consists staying out later than 9:30. As much as I’d love to fit the picture perfect, #iwokeuplikethis mold everyday, I don’t have the time or dedication. But with that said, if I’m going out I still… View Post

I am going to be talking a lot about my move to New York in coming posts because, really, how could I not? My life has definitely taken an unexpected (and exciting!) turn, and every post idea I’ve brainstormed up as of late has something to do with the move. Today I’ve teamed up with Dove to talk about 6 things nobody warned me about before moving to the city. I was told all about spotting Craigslist scams and finding the best food (there are vegetarian restaurants as far as the eye can see, y’all!), but there were a lot of important things… View Post

Life has been moving really fast lately – I feel like I’m constantly moving a million miles a minute and I really haven’t been able to take time to slow down. I keep telling myself I need to start breathing and taking time for myself – and then I dream up another big project. While I’m all about dreaming and doing, there is something to be said for knowing when enough is enough and taking a break. I’ve been making a lot of changes lately and one more change I want to make is spending more time doing things I love and relaxing.  I teamed up… View Post

I’m definitely #TeamValentinesDay. I always have been, really. I am (almost pathetically) a die hard romantic, and even long before I was dating Chris, Valentines Day just meant watching romantic comedies and seeing beautiful flowers all over social media. And that is something that I can totally get behind. Now I will admit that Valentine’s Day is even more exciting because I get to be on the receiving end of those romantic gestures and it gives me a good excuse to dress up (something I’m always looking to do!) Chris and I thought we were clever trying to beat the crowds and celebrated… View Post
