Thanks Lady R and Blogger Babes for partnering with me on this post! Merry Christmas Eve, everyone! I’m taking this Christmas Eve easy as I’m home bound with the stomach flu, but I thought I would still share some of my family’s Christmas Traditions and what would have been my Christmas Eve style should I be well enough to celebrate. Since I was little my family would go to my Grandma and Grandpa’s every year to open a few presents before the big Christmas gathering at my house, and in recent years I’ve been going from my grandparent’s to my boyfriend’s Christmas Eve celebration with his family. This year a friend of mine was also hosting a fancier holiday party.   Earlier today I ambitiously got dolled up in my favorite dress from Lady R and some fun makeup. Ultimately I didn’t feel well enough to go out (plus, I didn’t want to get anyone else sick!) but before I retired into my jammies I did snap some pictures.   Lady R has a really amazing line of dresses that are so beautifully intricate that it was really hard to choose a favorite! This is the one I chose, but I also love this similar style in red. Their pieces are super high… View Post

If you’ve visited here before you might know my love for all things winter fashion. I’m all about layers and boots and feeling cozy, but even more than I love winter fashion, I love holiday fashion. My family and friends celebrate Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Years with good food and good company and I’m already counting down the days until I’m reconnected with my favorite people for our annual festivities. For a lot of people, holiday parties mean sequined frocks and shimmering dresses, but lets be honest, my friend’s and I have celebrations that are a little more low key than that. A good portion of my holidays consists of snuggling in with my loved ones, pigging out on queso dip, and watching movies. Even then, I still love adding a touch of glamour to my cozy attire. I am admittedly a little bit  picky with my jewelry, though, and I gravitate towards more unique pieces. If I’m not shopping at second hand shops, I really love the pieces offered at Baublebar. This year Baublebar and Vaseline teamed up to a limited-edition and co-designed bejeweled jar sold exclusively at BaubleBar. The Vaseline Lip Therapy is the same great formula they’ve always had with triple refined… View Post

*Thanks to Ashley Kuenstler of all of the great pictures! Happy Friday, everyone! I’m starting the weekend off right by finishing up my tale about my time in St. Louis for Fashion Week! This time last week I was taking in all of the excitement that the city had to offer, and now I’m sitting in bed wishing I were back. So before I start planning my return trip I thought I could share some of the amazing places I visited last weekend to give you some travel inspo! Day Three of St. Louis Fashion Week! After the excitement of the night before, waking up was hard so day three called for my go to all black everything outfit – easy but a classic! The first thing we did was go to Naturalizer – home of the comfiest shoes ever!  We munched on pastries while shopping their amazing collection. After trying on a handful of styles, I settled on a pair of short heeled booties pictured below (and featured in just about every single Instagram since!) I’ve never had a pair of heeled boots that were still comfortable to walk in. I’ve worn these to class and it’s almost a half mile… View Post

Happy Friday, loves! I’ve fallen out of the swing of blogging this past week (thanks, midterms) but I’m back and I’m super excited to bring you today’s post! Not too long ago I was introduced to an amazing company that creates subscription boxes just for college students. I’ve always been a big fan of subscription services (I mean hello, you get a fun little present every month!), but I’ve only ever tried beauty ones. With that said, UniversiTEE box unlike anything else I’ve ever received. It is curated to help college students coast through their courses effortlessly and look good doing it. Last month was UniversiTEE box‘s debut month and they killed it with the goodies they chose for the box. Of course, I went gaga over the necklace because it is definitely very my style, and the little notebooks are perfect for jotting down any ideas, too! Each month the box includes a graphic tee, a statement necklace, and a few extra goodies that any college girl would love.  I’ve already designated one of those notebooks as my official ‘dreams’ notebook (because I have some crazy dreams at night, y’all) and the other two are patiently waiting for inspiration to strike. (Have I mentioned that I have… View Post

I’ve mentioned here before that I love fall for it’s fashion – booties, and sweaters, and leggings – oh my! Last week we had our first real almost taste of fall on the U of I campus (even though highs are back in the eighties again this week) and I took full advantage of it! I couldn’t go all out, because admittedly it was still a little warm for chunky knits and scarves, but I still think I did a good job bringing in some fall vibes with this outfit. I pulled out my all-time favorite pair of booties from JC Penney, and some great Jessica Simpson cropped jeans (that I got for a steal!), and topped everything off with a polka dot blouse that I honestly haven’t worn in probably six years (but now I’m kicking myself for those years of neglect!) One thing I especially love for the colder months is statement jewelry. In the spring and summer most jewels are reserved for special occasions because the combination of the heat and the added weight of the jewelry leaves me feeling claustrophobic and uncomfortable, but when it cools down it’s a whole ‘nother story. I recently got this new statement necklace* (my new obsession!)… View Post
