This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Burt’s Bees. All opinions are 100% mine.
You guys, 2016 is upon us and I’m so ready to make it an amazing year. A lot of people have a big ‘new year, new me’ attitude, and while I’m not quite there I’m looking forward to making a few smaller changes.
If you know me, you know that my winter wardrobe is 90% percent black (which I love) but sometimes it is fun to throw in pops of color. Through the fall you saw me slowly turn into a lipstick person, and now I am completely sold.
I recently tried out Burt’s Bee’s new line of 100% natural lipsticks Available at Target and I am floored. These lipsticks go on (and feel) like lip balm but have full coverage with a really nice satin finish. I’ve really loved using them to spice up some of my everyday outfits and I thought it might serve as some color inspo for other #allblackeverything girls like myself!
My Lazy Day Look
Elephant pants are my go to everyday, unfortunately until the sun decides to shine again this outfit will be staying in the drawer, but it wouldn’t feel right not to show it anyways. It’s pretty loud as it is, but I think any outfit (even my lazy day ones!) can benefit from a fun pop of lip color! I paired my favorite outfit with one of my favorites, Magenta Rush!
My Date Night Look
Before a few months ago, date night was the only time I would ever wear lip color, but now that I’ve gotten a bit more daring I tend to amp it up with something more bold. Given that this was my ‘date night’ outfit I let my boyfriend (and photog!) pick out my lip color, so I’m sporting brimming berry!
My Everyday Look
My final outfit is my cozy, monochrome every day look. (Paired with a ‘maybe I shouldn’t show my teeth after eating chocolate’ smile.) As far as every day lipstick goes, I’ve always said my goal was to be able to wear a casual red lip and I think that this shade in ‘Scarlet Soaked’ is just that. It’s got the glamour of red without looking over the top. This is one of my favorites!
My Coffee with Friends Look.
I really really love the look of minimal makeup paired with an all black outfit. With a bit of concealer and Blush Basin, a nude-y pink lipstick, I look put together without looking done up.
Ok, Burt’s Bees really outdid themselves with the lovely range of colors – the line has neutral nudes, a range of berries, reds, and a really great true pink. Another thing that I love is the colors are buildable, layering them on doesn’t look cakey, rather it just makes the colors all the more intense.
One last thing that I should note is that these lipsticks are really long lasting. Something I don’t find very often in formula’s as hydrating as these are! My boyfriend can attest to how long lasting they are, something he learned the hard way not too long after agreeing to this shot.
Let me know, which of these colors would you be dying to try? Once you decide, don’t forget to go check them out, they’re available at Target!
